The Nassau County Department of Health maintains records of Petroleum Bulk Storage Facilities, regulated under Article XV of the Nassau County Public Health Ordinance (NCPHO) and Toxic & Hazardous Materials Storage Facilities, regulated under Article XI of the NCPHO, within the boundaries of the County.

Note: Historical records for gasoline, diesel and kerosene storage tanks removed prior to 2017 are maintained by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office. To view these records a Freedom of Information request form must be submitted to their office.

Facilities can be in three different statuses: "In Service", "Out of Business", and "Reference". Only the "In Service" facilities have an active permit with the Department. "Out of Business" and "Reference" facility information is available for historical review purposes. Please note that it is possible for there to be multiple In-Service facilities at the same address (e.g. a refueling station that has a separate auto repair shop on site)

All search results will return basic facility information including the NCDOH Facility ID (permit number), facility status, registration expiration date, facility name and address, and information regarding the facility's tanks and/or storage areas. Access to some information for certain facilities is restricted and may require submission of a Freedom of Information Law (F.O.I.L.) Form to the Department for review prior to the information being released.Copies of information regarding recent inspections, tank testing results etc. must also be requested through the submission of a FOIL request form.
