For vendors interested in doing business with Nassau County, following is information regarding registering as a vendor eligible to participate in solicitations. Please note that Nassau County promotes diversity and economic equity in the vendor community, and participation of eligible Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOB) and Minority- and Women-owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) vendors is strongly encouraged. Getting Started: Registering As a Vendor

Nassau County has a transparent, cloud-based e-procurement systems, the Nassau County Bid Solicitation Boards, which are available online 24/7/365. These systems, which notify registered vendors of all solicitations that reference vendor-identified commodity codes, maximize efficiency and increase business opportunities for you.

The Nassau County Bid Solicitation Boards are open to all registered vendors. Vendors that have not registered are able to view open solicitation opportunities, but they are not able to download solicitation documents or submit bids or proposals.

Companies that have been awarded a contract in excess of $10,000.00 will be required to pay a nominal contract administration fee. In addition, companies that have been awarded a Blanket Purchase Order Contract (BPNC) open to use by political subdivisions also will be required to pay a one-time administrative fee of $275 per contract.

  • Real time bidding for small purchases (those up to $10,000.00).
  • Access for any political subdivisions interested in reviewing and using Nassau County Blanket Purchase Order Contracts.

Competitive Purchases are subject to NY State Municipal bidding law and Nassau County Charter requirements including:

  • Purchases under $500.00 do not require competitive bids. Only one recorded quote is required. Additional quotes may be requested if the Buyer deems it appropriate.
  • Purchases between $500.00 and $3,000.00 require three informal competitive bids. The Buyer must obtain and record at least three verbal quotations. These bids generally are posted on the Informal Bid Board.
  • Purchases over $3,000.00 and up to $10,000.00 are posted on the Informal Bid Board.
  • Purchases over $10,000.00 are solicited as a Formal Sealed Bid, Request For Proposals, or other formal solicitation method posted on the Formal Bid Board. Formal solicitations also are advertised in the County’s Official Periodical
    • For informal and formal solicitations go to the Vendor Portal, log into your dashboard, and click the “Nassau County Procurement”.
  • Vendors generally are given a minimum of 5 business days to respond to informal bid solicitations, and most formal bids provide a minimum of 15 days to respond. Read each solicitation carefully to be certain you are aware of the applicable deadline to submit an offer.
  • For competitive bids, the lowest responsive, responsible bidder is awarded the purchase order or contract.
  • For competitive proposals, the lowest responsive, responsible proposer offering the best value is awarded the contract.
